Jason wasn't starting from scratch when he reached out to me this summer. He's been shredding hard for decades. Winning races on Mountain Bikes and Dirt Bikes. After years of doing his own dryland workouts in his garage, he had built a solid foundation. But like many self-coached athletes, he suspected there were gaps in his strength approach. He wanted to ensure he covered all the bases—especially as he approached his 50s while juggling high-level downhill racing, dirt biking, running a business, and keeping up with his busy family.
Here’s what Jason shared about his experience working with me:
"Approaching my 50s, I’m still pushing hard—racing downhill at a high level, riding dirt bikes, running a business, and keeping up with my busy young family. I signed up with Alex mainly for injury prevention and to fix my posture; I was worried about injuring my shoulder in a crash. Now, I’m feeling much more robust, and Alex has taught me how to move my body better when I’m off the bike. The progress is coming fast, and I feel the difference every time I’m out riding. Plus, I’m actually enjoying the process in the gym. Alex’s program fits right into my life and gives me exactly what I need to keep charging forward."
This is exactly why I do what I do. Jason came to me with big goals: staying injury-free, and charging on both bikes (way harder than me!) Improving his posture, and performing at his best on and off the bike. He also needed a program that fit into his busy lifestyle and gave him results without adding stress to his plate.
In just 2 hours a week, Jason has learned how to move more effectively in the gym, off the bike, strengthening his weak points while building body awareness and a more resilient body. His hard work and commitment to the process are paying off. Not only is he feeling stronger and more confident, but he’s also enjoying the training journey—something he wasn’t expecting when he first walked into the gym.
Why Jason's Story Matters
Jason’s story resonates with so many riders I coach. Maybe you’re in your 40s or 50s, still charging hard (or like me - thinking you're charging hard lol), but noticing that your body doesn’t bounce back like it used to. Or maybe you’re juggling a packed schedule with work, family, and hobbies, and you’re unsure if you’re training efficiently—or at all.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your training is setting you up for success—or just leaving gaps—you’re not alone. Riders like Jason prove that it’s possible to keep pushing your limits without unduly risking injury, sacrificing time with your family, or burning out.
Are You Ready to Make a Change?
If you’re ready to level up your riding, prevent injuries, and feel stronger on and off the bike, let’s talk. My programs are designed for busy, driven riders who want to keep progressing without wasting time or guessing what works.
Whether you’re training in your garage, a local gym, or no gym at all, I’ll meet you where you are and guide you toward where you want to be. Let Jason’s story be proof that with the right guidance, you can keep charging forward—no matter your age, goals, or schedule.
See you there,
Alex
